Each year my former mission agency, Mission to the World, produces a video highlighting a specific mission project in which kids can be involved. This year’s video, “A Heart for Japan,” teaches children “about the people and culture of Japan, especially its children and their daily lives. They will learn about the damage and disruption of the tsunami, and what they can do to reach out to other children with the love of Jesus.” I really enjoyed watching it because I recognized so many familiar faces, including Japanese people we met recently in Ishinomaki.

The 14-minute video posted below has been divided into five short videos which are designed to be used during a week-long vacation Bible school setting (one video per day). The goal of the video series is to raise support for music-focused after school programs to minister to Japanese children whose lives were affected by the  tsunami. Children are encouraged to both give and pray to support this important work. You may request a DVD of this series for your church’s VBS program this summer.
