Recently our friend Monika, a veteran German missionary living in Nagoya, visited Ishinomaki for 10 days or so. She remarked, “Every single missionary in Japan should come to Tohoku to see what God is doing and to be encouraged that He is at work in extraordinary ways!” She was especially impressed with the strong spirit of cooperation among all of the dozens of missionaries here – we pray (and play) together a lot! She had numerous chances to share the gospel during her short visit – many women asked her to please come back again soon! We’re hoping she’ll come back in the fall for a few months. Monika left Ishinomaki deeply refreshed and in awe of all that God is doing in our midst. It was a great reminder to me of the privilege we have to work in Tohoku!

Sunday morning worship on a very cold day! We were supposed to have a picnic worship service under the cherry blossoms but it was snowing hard! (It was really bizarre to see snow on the cherry blossoms.)
